In the new GSR, a number of modern safety features are again made mandatory for certain vehicle categories. For semi-trailers and trailers it means that a tyre pressure monitoring system will become mandatory. The substantive requirements for such a system have now been released.

From 1 September 2021, the new requirements for bumpers according to R58.03 would also apply to vehicles that are individually presented to the RDW for inspection. RAI CarrosserieNL has tried to postpone the implementation date of the R58.03 due to market developments.

Many companies in our industry have a forklift, terminal tractor or semi-trailer tractor without a license plate for moving goods and vehicles. The Belgian Febetra, say the Belgian TLN, regrets that the French authorities are following their own course in this area and oblige foreign vehicles to install these facilities. In the Netherlands, a towed vehicle falls under the vehicle that is towing it and therefore does not need to be insured separately.
